The collection includes about 350 printed books (including a collection of bibles), primarily concerned with Coptic language, history, and religious pratice; 20 manuscripts (some unidentified) in Coptic and Arabic relating to Coptic liturgical practices; and a large number of academic pamphlets from the first half of the twentieth century, concerned with Coptic studies.
History and development
Gaselee's books, manuscripts, and pamphlets were acquired upon his death in 1943. No further material has been added.
The collection relates primarily to Coptic language and religious practices.
