History and development
The coverage for the economy of China is growing as an integral part of a SHEFC co-operative scheme.
The collection is supported by holdings of the yearbooks covering China and Taiwan, an extensive (over 1400)collection of microfiche of Russian and Soviet statistics (including the western asia former Soviet republics) published by IDC and a collection of over 1000 microfiche produced by the Congressional Information Service covering the Occupation of Japan, 1945-1952.
General arrangement and access regulations
This is an open access collection arranged and classified by subject according to a modified version of the Library of Congress classification. Within the general field of economics, there is a relatively strong holding of about 1,000 texts on the economies of Asia, including economic history, mostly in English and including OECD economic surveys. Overall, the works date from the period since 1945.
